2. Another reason to avoid couch surfing is that even if you want to stay for a long time you can not really stay at some unknown person's place for a long time.
3. Third reason to consider is that you might not like your host. It is not possible to know a person entirely through a network site. So, when you meet the person face to face you may not like him or her.
4. Fourth reason is that you will not feel as comfortable in an unknown person's house as you would have, for example, in a hotel.

If you can live with these downsides couch surfing can give you a great experience and inside view to your destination like no other accommodation. You can even get a new friend you would have not met otherwise. That said, when you feel not so adventurous I recommend other accommodation options for a stress free vacation.
